Oliva Seiries O (Torpedo)
It was last week, and a good friend of mine (Jeff) came over to talk about the new church we are starting, and of course what great conversation wouldn't be complete with out a really great cigar. A couple of weeks before Jeff had read this blog about one of my new favorites... Rocky Patel Sun grown... so he bought me a few...
So when he came over... it was only natural for him to to take the Rocky for a ride. While he was enjoying on of my favorites i tried a new stick the... Olivia Series O torpedo.
Now i have had all sorts of the Olivas before and for the most part had been completely satisfied... but maybe it was that Jeff was smoking a real winner of a cigar... or maybe i got bad egg... but i was not to impressed at all.
Here are my thoughts:
Burn: Uneven and fast
Draw: Tighter than i prefer
Flavor: Woody, and earthy... kind of a thinner flavor than i remembered from Oliva.
Plume: Medium
Overall: i would give it a 2.5 out of ten... Not Olivas best
Price: 5-6$
Label: Tan and bown
Oh Rocky how i now love thee! Let me count the ways of your Sungrown:
Jeffrey Dela Cruz said...Burn: Even, but because of the slight and wonderful breeze, made the burn not last.
Draw: Great pull on the draw, smooth not to hard.
Flavor: Leather saddle comes to mind, yet nice and toasty. It rounds out with a nice hint of dark chocolate (yeah call me crazy but that's what i got)
Plume: couldn't really get a good read cause of the breeze.
Overall: 7/10- i knew this would be a winner! I was presently surprised at the smoothness it had considering that Rocky Patel's cigars are usually a "knock you on your butt" cigars-or so i've heard.
Price: 7-9$
Label: Crimson Red with Gold Lettering 2Banded- which slightly ripped my cigar when i was trying to take it off =(
Thanks again Bobby for your find and conversation. I can't wait till the next BDAY Cigar you got me! Let me know when!
